Womens Quarter is the name of the documentary made by Kamran Shirdel about Tehrans Citadel. The film was produced on behalf of the Organization of Iranian Women and was immediately banned while shooting was still going on. In 1980 Shirdel rescues a small fraction of his original film rushes and audio recordings from the ministry’s archives. He borrows KAVEH GOLESTAN’s vintage prints and completes his documentary by animating these into the body of his film.
