Wonder if anyone here ever went into this odd and rather amazing shop in downtown Birmingham called Dixie Wigs. I wandered into it on a visit back to the Ham in 2007, and was overwhelmed by the sheer number of wigs for sale, and the fastidious display of them. It seemed like some sculpture installation one might find in a London or New York art gallery. I snapped a bunch of photos there, and my wife also snapped one of me in front of this wall of wigs: a photo which I used as the cover of a CD I made. I also wrote a song about the place! I was quite taken with it. It was located on either 2nd or 3rd Ave about 3 or 4 blocks from the McWane Science Center.
