Wonderful Halloween party gig with the Stratones last night, debuting our new guitarist Dave Stem, who did wonderfully. Thanks to Mark and Lori Iskander who were more than gracious host. Good food, drink, conversation and music. Loved doing background vocals with Jess during the Barn Bats set, which was rocking and groovin, especially Chain of Fools and Feelin Alright, much fun! Matt Richter sat in with the Bats on percussion then switched to kit for a Santana tune (Evil Ways?) and Whole Lotta Love. He was smoking. Laurie and I were in a great position to watch during the Santana piece and were jaws agape at Matts technique and feel. He later said Mike Shrieve was a huge influence. In the smallness of RI category, Laurie ran into a teacher she worked with in the 90s at the Growing Child in Gansett. All in all a smashing night with some great folks!
