Word For The Week: TOGETHER! “Building Faithful Families (BFF)” Fall Series Come now, and let us reason TOGETHER, says the Lord… - Isaiah 1:18 The questions must be asked: As families, what Do we do? TOGETHER? What more Can we do, TOGETHER? Blackademically Speaking, have you ever heard of the Hoshi Hotel? How about the Houshi family? Would you believe me if I told you, as a family they’ve been in business for 1300+ years? (Insert:Pause!) Now, why do we only / mostly come TOGETHER for funerals? Why haven’t we figured out how to gather & build TOGETHER (while alive) as we do when its time to bury those that die? In step with our “Building Faithful Families (BFF)” Fall Series, one real reason we only come TOGETHER in crisis is because we lack a strategic TOGETHERness-which would actually aid us in avoiding some of the crisis we experience. The Houshi family welcomed its 1st guest in 718; now 46 generations later they still keep things TOGETHER! 46 generations! Wow. And because so many of us, in our families, drown in our own contentment, it’s tough to establish this kind of generational commitment. Not only do we need more education, we need sustainable businesses in our families. Not only do we need to turn off the T.V.’s to think TOGETHER & eat our meals TOGETHER, we need to teach our children how to create global companies that produce & distribute meals, TOGETHER.
