Working from home today. As many of you know, I was asked to write a curriculum and be the Team Lead on creating a Soft Skills program through Ability Connection Colorado. It is for youth and their families birth to 21 who have disabilities ( these are NOT just physical disabilities. This includes mental health, ADD, ADHD, Cognitive and learning difficulties.) The goal of this program to prepare youth who have challenges and their families to succeed in school, social settings and enter the workforce as independent, healthy individuals. I have reached out to some of you but if you or your child are interested in participating in this program, please PM me or email me at [email protected] . Your involvement will start with a short survey of what you would like to see from a program of this sort, along with several meetings both with parents and with the teens themselves. Our goal is to then start working with experts in the field to hold classes, counsel and provide resources based on the needs of those involved. Please note that we are in the very beginning stages of this program and welcome all feedback.
