Working journalists: Entries for the 81st annual National Headliner Awards, one of the oldest and largest journalism awards programs, are now being accepted either online or by mail. The awards, sponsored by the Press Club of Atlantic City, are given in 80 categories across the journalism spectrum—newspapers, photojournalism, editorial cartoons, magazines, news syndicates, television, radio and online. A $1,500 award is given to the Headliner Award winner (s) whose work is selected by the judges for the “Grand Award” recognition. Other winners will receive plaques or certificates. There is a $75 per entry registration fee. There is no limit on the number of entries that may be submitted. However, entries may be entered in only one category. All nominations must be postmarked no later than January 30, 2015. Headliner competition is open to all material appearing in publications distributed or broadcast in the United States between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2014. Online entries in print and online categories only may be submitted via a secure link at: https://omnicontests4/?comp_id=headlinerawards. Online entry fees are payable via PayPal/credit card. Headliner entries are judged in Atlantic City by a panel of journalists representing newspapers, wire services, and radio and television stations from around the country. The judges are distinguished professionals, selected on the basis of the journalistic contributions they have made during their careers.
