Working on a Peterbilt. Have to run an Injector Performance Test - TopicsExpress

Working on a Peterbilt. Have to run an Injector Performance Test (IPT), so I run the engine to get it about the engine temperature threshold. The Fan Clutch starts to burn up. I have the switch flipped in the cab to Manual (fan engaged). The Test wont run unless the engine is at a certain temp, to get it to a certain temp, the fan needs to be engaged and not burning up the clutch. Ask my Supervisor, George. He tells me to disable the fan clutch solenoid, this closes the solenoid, stopping air from actuating the clutch open, locking down the fan on the clutch. I do that and the test cannot run because the Fan Clutch circuit is Shorted High/Open. Engine protection kicks in and the ECM derates. I cant run the IPT untill I get a new Fan clutch. There is a good possibility that the IPT will ruin another fan clutch. So it waits till Monday.
