Workshop: How to write in the Italic style at the DC Fountain Pen Show Instructor: Tamara Stoneburnerof Gracestone Calligraphics gracestone facebook/Gracestonecalligraphics Date: Saturday, August 10, 2013 Time: 10am-2:30 pm (includes ½ hour lunch break from noon-12:30) Cost: $45 per person Sorry, no credit card payments. You may pay the day of the workshop with either check/cash. The workshop is open to the public (all levels are welcome). All supplies will be provided, including notebooks containing reference materials and lettering templates, as well as all inks, writing tools, and papers (if you have a broad-edge or “chisel-edge” fountain pen you’d like to use, you may bring that to the workshop to try out). This is a good class to learn about the history of Italic writing, hear a discussion about ink and paper basics, and recognize and practice the strokes needed to write letterforms into an easy-to-read italic writing that you can use every day. Pre-register by Thursday, August 9, 2013 for a guaranteed spot.Walk-ins will be accepted, provided the class limit has not been reached.Class limit is 25 people.
