World Human Rights Day observed with enthusiasm JAMMU, Dec 10: World Human Rights Day was observed across Jammu province with enthusiasm. To commemorate International Human Rights Day, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Doda organised a seminar on “Human Rights and State Functions” at Town Hall Doda. In the seminar prominent speakers who spoke on various facets of Human Rights and redressal mechanism, were Tahir Khurshid Raina, Additional District and Sessions Judge Doda, Shyam Vinod Meena, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Advocate Imtiaz Ahmed Mir, President Bar Association Doda, Mohammad Sharief Chouhan SSP Doda, ZA Hashmi, Principal Government Degree College Doda, MA Sheikh DySP HQ Doda, Advocate Asim Hashmi and a student from Degree College Doda. Earlier, the programme commenced with introductory and welcome address by Rajeev Gupta, Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Doda. Tabraiz Ahmed Qazi, District Mobile Magistrate Doda conducted the proceedings. Vote of thanks was presented by Naveen Jamwal Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Doda. On the eve of World Human Rights Day, the students of The Law School, both from BA LL.B (5Years) stream and students of PG Diploma course in ‘Human Rights and Duties Education’ visited District Jail, Ambphalla, Jammu. The students interacted with the inmates and got an insight into the living conditions of the under trials and convicts. The students further sensitized the inmates about their human rights in the prison. The interaction was supervised by the Jail Superintendent, Harish Kotwal. The students were accompanied by the teachers Dr Monika Narang, Dr Subha Vats, Dr Mrinalini Atrey and Dr Renu Jamwal. Two day workshop on ‘the Human Rights’ organized by NSS Wing of Government MAM College in collaboration with Association for Democratic Rights (ADR) to observe ‘Human Rights Day’ concluded today.
