World Humanitarian Summit, Zimbabwe national Grassroots consultation meeting that organised was by Action 24 together with United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (UNOCHA) ended on a higher note. The meeting that happened on the 17th of September with community representatives from all the 9 province of the country is a build up to the Global Summit to be held in Turkey in 2016. Very rare has communities been involved in global humanitarian agenda, and these consultations which are happening at both national and regional levels are a paradigm shift to the traditional way of crafting humanitarian assistance frameworks and agenda. Thank you to UN Secretary General for realising the importance of people where aid is targeted to. Action 24 applauds this move as we feel that communities are the best architectures of solutions to their own problems.
