You can hear contemporary English folk, Malian Tuareg desert rock, Anglo-Kenyan fusion, Anglo-Ethiopian dub & 1960s afro-soul. From Jamaica: reggae, rare mento (masquerading as calypso!) and rhythm and blues. Elsewhere in the Caribbean theres old biguine from Martinique (curiously from a Haitian band), Cuban tropicana and Franco-Colombian salsamuffin. And from the glory days of New York salsa, the Big Apple supplies three classic tracks from Ray Barretto and Tito Puente. As well as all that theres Ghanaian afrobeat, Greek rembetika fusion, Siberian ambient and a 75-piece Serbian brass band playing alongside 10 nyabinghi drummers from Africa!
