Worry is a part of life because the future is always uncertain. Life is built this way by design so that we can learn to stay in the now and regulate our emotions in the now. The more reactive we are to life the more uncertain WE make it. Emotions are e-motion..or energy in motion. So if we are reactive we create chaos. Worry is hard to deal with but a certain amount of it is healthy, creative and curious. If we react out of worry or fear we create more of a windstorm. When we can regulate our emotions, and recognize they are like two-year-olds who need discipline, time, attention and listening then we become able to self-soothe. When we can reel our emotions in, when we have felt what we needed to feel, and when we have become calm...we can now make better decisions in how to proceed. There is always enough time to handle any uncertainty that comes into our life and sometimes it is best to get centered, not react and respond to your situation after some time. Not all things need to be handled right now! Life is not an emergency and when are reactive we are not in touch with our rational brain. Take the time you need to get clear on things before you jump in and make it more of a mess than it needs to be. This is what I call emotional maturity or self-awareness. It is learning to be in the now of what you feel and having the self-control not to react until you have come down from the energy-in-motion or emotion. Life is much more enjoyable when we are not in our own way. Love yourself.
