Worst Friday in a long time. A very nice police officer woke us up at 3 am to tell us that a drunk driver barreling down Forest Lane jumped the curb and smashing into our back fence (which is brick). He glanced off the wall and then wrapped the Ford F-150 around a pole. He must have crawled out through the broken passenger window and ran away. Bunch of beer bottles in the truck apparently. Unfortunately, it also killed our internet and phone service (the utility box was a smoking heap). Then I developed food poisoning this morning from some questionable sausage I ate last night. And Im on call this weekend. That wall is 4 brick layers thick and has rebar in it. Im just glad he didnt continue through the wall, into our pool or bedroom.
