Worth watching. They are now looking at the diet they have been recommending to diabetics for decades. Telling people that cannot process carbs to eat more? It makes no sense at all. I have insulin resistance which means that I cannot process carbs properly. Carbs convert to glucose in your body and if you cannot use that glucose then it turns to fat and your poor pancreas, liver, kidneys etc are left working overtimes to try and break it down. I have opted to cut the carbs and increase the fat and so far so good. My sugar levels are way better, my cholesterol has lowered, my skin is better, I am losing weight, I sleep better at night and am not having my mid afternoon crash. Obviously it is not going to cure everything that I have going on, but it is making a huge difference already. I am coping a hell of a lot better than I was and I was highly addicted to carbs/sugar. Cutting out bread, cereal, rice, pasta and sugar wasnt easy for me, but I think I have finally done it! :D iview.abc.net.au/programs/catalyst/SC1302H018S00
