Would you like to know if I locked myself out of the house this morning? Why, yes, I did. I went to the car, planning to put on the jacket I left out there. I closed the door to the house. **Click.** JUST after the click, I realized my keys were still in the house and that I had already set the door to lock. So, here I sit. Im on my back deck, in November (thankfully, so far, a warmer-than-normal November), in New York, in a tank top and long skirt. If anyone ever wonders why I thank God for my best friend Retta, heres one of the many reasons: she possesses the only other key that is currently available to me. Despite her busy morning of running a day care, getting herself ready, taking two trips to school to drop off various children, and taking her son to the doctor, she is taking a moment to stop by here to let me in, saving me from freezing off my ever-loving, well... You know. Thank you. Im correctly accepting all offers of hot beverages, as well as prayers that my scattered brain returns to its former glory soon. That is all.
