Pearl, As he describers in his own online biography, Senior Airman Brian Koflage, USAF, Ret. was on his second deployment for Operation IRAQI FREEDOM in 2004, when on September 11, 2004 the airbase came under a rocket attack. A 107mm rocket shell exploded about three feet from Airman Kolfage. His life forever changed that second. He is now a triple amputee. Today, his Purple Heart attests to his bravery in Iraq, while Airman Kolfage engages in a new battle against the dysfunctional Veterans Administration over thousands of dollars of benefits he earned in his nations service. In an open letter posted on his Facebook page, he called out President Obama, our nation’s Commander in Chief, as “unfit to lead our nation.” A few poignant excerpts from the letter include the following… Sadly, the men and women who have volunteered to fight the in the most extreme conditions in the world are coming back only to find themselves engaged in a new war at home. They have now found themselves in a war with your incompetent administration, whose scandal-ridden legacy has finally hit an all-time low. I can’t help but feel the deepest disgust for the pain you and your administration have caused the families who have lost their heroes battling your war against our veterans back home. I can’t think of more shameless way to for this country to dishonor its veterans. And sadly, it’s the lack of your leadership and accountability that lead to these failures. Unfortunately for America, youve been too busy campaigning and don’t have time to deal with the health care crisis of our veterans. The only thing you seem to care about is your own radical agenda, and now our vets are paying for your negligence with their lives. There is more – much more – in this letter that declares what growing numbers of concerned Americans believe to be true: President Obama is unfit to lead our nation, let alone act as Commander in Chief. The problems at the V.A. didn’t begin under the Obama administration – but, as Senior Airman Koflage so aptly remind us, candidate Obama did promise to fix the broken administration, which, up to now he has failed to do. Daily there are new allegations of abuse and corruption surfacing. This failure of the Obama administration to deal with known problems in the V.A. which allegedly have led to the deaths of many of our soldiers, may be the most egregious of all of the Obama administration scandals. This is another example of his profound ability to overpromise and under deliver. It is another mark of failed leadership.
