Wounds of the Soul By Patricia Partney Dascher When people hurt you leaving deep wounds in your soul, what do you do? To carry the hurt, meditating on it day and night is to relive it over and over again. What do you do when the wounds are so deep you despair even of life? Yet you must go on. Jesus came to heal the broken hearted and to set the captive free. He came to heal, save and redeem us. Yet he was a man of sorrows acquainted with bitter grief. When He came to earth He experienced the wounds we as human beings experience. He was despised, but his love continued to pour out from a bloody cross as he cried, “Father forgive them. They know not what they do.” When we see what Jesus went through we can carry no grudge. Hold no bitterness. Forgiveness is not an option, it is a necessity. We can not hold on to hurts. We must give them to God and pray with all our hearts for those who have hurt us. Pray for God to bless, heal and make those who hurt us whole. Pray for their health, prosperity and joy. Pray that God will give them wisdom, courage, love and hope. As we pray for those who have wounded us leaving the hurts in His hands God will heal us. He will give us His wisdom and understanding. Prayer: I stand before you my Father God, with hurts and wounds that only you can heal. You were wounded for my transgressions. Yet you were perfect and deserving of praise and love. You were beaten that I might have peace. You were oppressed and afflicted, yet you didn’t say anything. The cross was a bloody massacre and you did not deserve it. Jesus, it was for me and those who have wounded me that you chose the cross. My hurts are minor compared to yours. My grief and sorrow is nothing when I see what you went through. I pray with all my heart for those who have wounded me, that you will heal their souls. Please Lord, for I love them with an everlasting love just as you love me. I would not have such a deep soul wound if I did not love them so deeply. If a thought of a past hurt comes to my mind I will stand up for them in prayer asking for you to bless them with power over evil and healing for their wounds. Bless them Lord, bless them exceedingly abundant anything they could ask or think. Bless them with the power of your love and healing. IN JESUS NAME who died that we might live free from all evil……In Jesus Name that we might be saved from this world of pain to live in your Kingdom. May your Kingdom Come and Your Will Be Done In My Life and In Theirs as it is in Heaven… I love you Lord with ALL MY HEART AND SOUL forever and always I LOVE YOU. Isaiah 53 In our eyes there was no attractiveness in him at all, nothing to make us want him. 3 We despised and rejected him—a man of sorrows, acquainted with bitterest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way when he went by. He was despised, and we didn’t care. 4 Yet it was our grief he bore, our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, for his own sins! 5 But he was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace; he was lashed—and we were healed! 6 We—every one of us—have strayed away like sheep! We, who left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet God laid on him the guilt and sins of every one of us! 7 He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he never said a word. He was brought as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he stood silent before the ones condemning him. 8 From prison and trial they led him away to his death. But who among the people of that day realized it was their sins that he was dying for—that he was suffering their punishment? 9 He was buried like a criminal, but in a rich man’s grave; but he had done no wrong and had never spoken an evil word. 10 But it was the Lord’s good plan to bruise him and fill him with grief. However, when his soul has been made an offering for sin, then he shall have a multitude of children, many heirs. He shall live again,[b] and God’s program shall prosper in his hands. 11 And when he sees all that is accomplished by the anguish of his soul, he shall be satisfied; and because of what he has experienced, my righteous Servant shall make many to be counted righteous before God, for he shall bear all their sins. 12 Therefore, I will give him the honors of one who is mighty and great because he has poured out his soul unto death. He was counted as a sinner, and he bore the sins of many, and he pled with God for sinners
