Wow. How do I start? tomorrow will be 2 weeks here at riverside. Weve seen mini seizures, dangerous temperatures, elevated ICPs, 2 drain procedures, multiple IVs, extreme infection, multiple bags of cerebral spinal fluid, close to 20 nurses, 4 sets of medical specialist teams, 113 e-cards, thousands of dollars in donations and food. Not to mention tens of thousands of prayers, (no seriously, prayers from as far away as Australia) millions of tears, and just as many smiles and cheers just in the past 3 days. Brian remains the single most remarkable person I know, aside from God. The two most important men in my life continue to teach me every day. In the next few days we attempt the final hurdles at this facility. we set our sights to remove external brain drains and end a constant battle with the breathing machine that has proven to be Brians least favorite aspect of his stay. After that we will undoubtedly shed just as many tears as when we started this journey when we say goodbye to the most amazing set of angels god could ever have sent us. We attribute so much of Brians success to the nurses who never gave up on our stubbornly amazing guy. Even when he was the most critical patient on the floor. Keep praying, as unbelievably we are about to begin an even bigger struggle. rebuilding motor skills and balance to give Brians life back to him.
