Wow. The first two left me so underwhelmed that Id completely forgotten there would even be a third! Cheap shot, too, using Pippins old song from RotK. The first time I saw that movie in theaters - the first of 10 times. back when I could afford such things! - I started crying at this point. (At that time, I had no idea Billy Boyd could even sing.) I calmed down a bit, but by the time I got to Sam and Frodo on Mt. DOOOOOOOOM, I totally lost it. I didnt stop crying until ALL the 3934378347377 endings and credits were done and the screen went black. And I mean sobbing. Hearing this again only serves to remind me of the difference in quality between the first three LotR movies and now this set. Hopefully this final installment will be better. That said, like the sucker that I am, you know Im going to plunk down my money, if I can at all afford it! Eating? Bills? Who cares? My priorities are straight! Fiction: Its cheaper than therapy.
