Wow Vernon, and surrounding areas, we are so grateful for the overwhelming support. Kala Star students will be working even harder tomorrow to make sure all 135 stockings are ready to be delivered to the Upper Room Mission tomorrow at 4. The students mission was to provide one heart-made stocking for each member of our community who is in need. This includes a mandarin orange, a candy cane, a homemade cookie, and a positive motivational quote! Kala Star students and parents worked extra hard to separate the massive amount of donated bottles and cans. We had the Kala Star Peters Tirecraft Learning van, and two parent trucks, doing pickups all over town. We are amazed by the amount of donations, both monetary and with recyclables, the students received to be able to fulfill their mission. Thank you to BIG SUN and ASHLEY FURNITURE for setting up donation drop-offs at your business. Thank you Dr. Sean Bicknell, of PLEASANT VALLEY DENTAL, for donating 135 toothpaste and toothbrushes. Thank you MYAH GALLIE, and EMMAH PEDERSEN for putting in hours to sew stockings. Thank you CHASERS BOTTLE DEPOT for the use of their lunchroom to eat and warm up, and for topping up our total to a nice round number! Kala Star is pleasantly surprised, again, at the generosity and hard work in our COMMUNITY :-))
