Wow...thanks all! MI GREAT ARTIST Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson congratulates five MI Great Artist finalists. The outstanding artists are Kim Fujiwara, Henry Heading, Patrick McManus, Victor Pytko and Weatherly Stroh. Public votes along with more than 9,000 others chose the top 20 artists. A panel of esteemed judges selected the five finalists. There will be an exhibition of their work at Park West Gallery in Southfield from December 2 - January 3. Prizes rom the Finalists there will be selected One (1) MI Great Artist™(“First-Place Winner”), and four (4) Runners-Up; all 5 collectively referred to as (“Winners”). The 4 Runners-Up will be awarded: (i) framing of their Submissions, (value $2,500); (ii) group exhibition and reception at Park West Gallery, Southfield beginning December 2, 2013 and ending January 3, 2014; (iii) Scholarship to attend one (1) Business Basics workshop offered through the Oakland County One Stop Shop/Business Center (value not to exceed $50) and a one (1) hour consultation with an Oakland County business development representative; (iv) a two (2) month solo exhibition in the Oakland County Galleria during the 2014 exhibition schedule; and (v) $370.00 cash prize. The First-Place Winner will be awarded: (i) framing of their Submissions (value $2,500); (ii) group exhibition and reception at Park West Gallery, Southfield beginning December 2, 2013 and ending January 3, 2014; (iii) Scholarship to attend three (3) Business Basics workshops, offered through the Oakland County One Stop Shop/Business Center (value not to exceed $150); (iv) a solo exhibition at Park West Gallery, Southfield; (v) a 2-month solo exhibition at Oakland County Galleria, Waterford during the 2014 exhibition schedule; and (vi) artwork featured on a poster to promote one of Oakland Countys signature quality of life events TBD, printed by Park West Gallery (value $700); and $1500.00 cash prize.
