Wow—lots of posts today about Bianca Del Rio’s “Drag Race” win. Here are my thoughts. First, congratulations to Bianca Del Rio! Although I don’t watch the show, I’ve worked with a number of those girls the past few years, and Bianca was by far the friendliest, most down-to-earth, professional “Drag Race” queen with whom I’ve worked. (Trust me—some of those girls are hot messes. LOL) Second, I’m disappointed that many people follow that show religiously but seldom, if ever, support local drag queens. Wherever you live, there are talented local girls who could use your support. Without local girls, there would be no queens to compete on that show. Local drag queens are the ones supporting the art form of female impersonation and YOUR community everyday. Please, support us, too—not just the girls on TV. For those of you who do support us--THANK YOU!!!
