Wrestlemania was great last night. Had a ton of people over and we laughed, we cheered, and watched the Jake speech so we could cry. It was awesome and the best Mania Ive watched whiile it was on. The opening promo, Bray Wyatt entrance and match, Cesaro winning and two Daniel Bryan matches and the subsequent victory were great. Did not like the streak ending. Not because of the fact that it ended but because of the execution. The build sucked, Taker visually looked awful, the match wasnt great, and the ending was anticlimactic. It was bloodless and emotionless, and after years of amazing, show stealing matches, he goes out on a match that slowed the show down. Its just a thing that happened. It wasnt a moment. It wasnt brutal. It wasnt epic. In the grand scheme of things and the story theyve been tellng, its rather meaningless. Brock didnt even want to go after Taker, Taker wanted to face Brock. Which is fine, but then make that the story. Have Taker go down fighting, have an emotional moment. Call back to their old matches when Brock destroyed Taker. But there was no continuity. There was no story. They decided to fight a month ago, and now a month later its all over. I wouldve liked to see the streak end some day as a conclusion, a farewell with some resolution. Its not sports, its sports entertainment. And the way this was done was not entertaining.
