[Writer-In-The-Gardens Residency Programme] Does this poetic scene inspire a story or poem in you? You may be the one we are looking for! National Arts Council is calling for proposals from budding writers for the inaugural Writer-In-The-Gardens Residency Programme. The residency will empower writers to take a time off from their busy lives to write, and will culminate in an original, published work inspired by the beautiful environment of Gardens by the Bay or Singapore Botanic Gardens. Writers will be given an allowance during the duration of the residency. As Writer-In-Residence, you will: - Create a fiction novel or novella, inspired by Gardens by the Bay and exploring the themes of ageing, families etc. - Enjoy free access to Gardens by the Bay for the period of the residency - Visit Gardens by the Bay at least once every 2 weeks - Have access to insider information, including R&D personnel - Offer 2 public sessions (workshops, readings, talks etc) for the elderly The residency is open to emerging and established writers from Singapore in English or Chinese.
