Writer and animal lover friends-the city council of the hometown where I was born and raised and where I raised two families has done something really stupid and this little dog stands to be euthanized. A local vet, Dr. Ivie took the video of this small dog that is deemed dangerous, and has the owners permission to post. If youll follow the link to Dr. Ivies original post, people mention in the comments that a couple of animals have already been euthanized under this crazy law. I am posting some links to the city council as well as the local ordinance and the Texas State ordinance which already addresses this issue (so another ordinance was not needed by the city) if you feel need to voice your objections and hopefully we can save this dogs life (as well as future pets (this includes cats) --apparently the ordinance is worded in such a way that if they even think the animal looks dangerous, its at risk.) Friends who live in Corsicana and are concerned about this law and your pets, there is an Animal Services Board meeting at City Hall on August 18, 2014 at 5:30 pm. If the front doors are locked at that time, you can go in through the police department. While youre looking at the links, look at the ridiculous amount of ordinances this too-big-for-its-britches small town has!!
