Writers and poets are known to stretch the truths and feelings. In the 10cc song Im Not In Love, obviously the protagonist is more in love than not. In the 徐志摩 poem 偶然,, the poet claimed to be nonchalant to the romantic encounter when it fact he was smittened as I read elsewhere. I suppose sometimes we imagine we are our ideals and for those who write, put those thoughts into words. Chelsia Chan turned that poem into a pretty good song.
