Writing Day 23 I took my wife to dinner (RE: cheated on my diet) after a doctor’s appointment and then we picked up a sick cat from the vey, so I didn’t get to writing until 7:30 PM. I stopped to watch the season premiere of Castle. I should’ve kept writing as the show was disappointing on a number of levels. In the hour I was in the chair, things started off slowly and then got interesting right near the end. The words didn’t flow easily at first, which usually means I’m not on the best track. While writing this post, I realized I should’ve started with the scene at the end of my writing session and move the first part to the next chapter, including the other character in that action. Easily done. When the words come too slowly, I need to realize that means I need to think about what I’m doing. When it’s right, the story writes itself and zooms along. I need to be sure the whole thing flows that well. I’ll fix that tomorrow and keep rolling.
