Writing of Today (24/01/2014): Topic : Some people think that parents should teach children how to be a good member of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Answer: The issue of whose direct responsibilities of educating children into model citizens has always been a controversial one. Some people advocate that it should be parents who take the first and foremost accountablity in such acitivity, however, others are of the opinion that it is the compulsory duty of educational institutions. In my view, parents should take charge of this fundamental concern while schools could contribute considerable help as well. It is broadly accepted that families are the initial kindergarten that would enlighten its members about both moral and educational lessons with regard to standard social values. Parenting, as a result, has always been considered a complicated task since whoever takes this role would be marked as a reliable benchmark for innocent learners to depend entirely on. The expected goals are, partially, helping their offspring to become familiar with the surrounding environment and shaping impeccable manners. In other words, kids inadvertently tend to imitate the inherent virtues and their future behaviours later are partial reflections of early childhood education at. Nevertheless, schools and teachers also have an immense influence on children development. Once taking part in a school society, a child starts his very first journey to a wider community with teachers act as devoted observers and instructors. Homes provide them with good manners within a minute group of relatives, however, this community comes with a great number of relationships in which associates freely and actively interact with each other. During the process, schooling significantly trains students with essential knowledge about moral standards as well as enhances their personal abilities. Parents, for this point, could not be able to take the similarly imperative step. In conclusion, it is essential that parents together with schools had better share the responsibilities of educating young generations into model citizens. Provided that there exists a combination of both views, it would be the best advantage to develop them comprehensively.
