Written by a long time fb friend who puts his actions where his mouth is. He was in DC last weekend for the Vets march. He served in our military. He speaks for many. Thank you Kelly for having the courage to say what many feel and believe. ~MTG~ AM I TOO AMERICAN FOR AMERICA? (An open letter to Americans) What the hell is happening to our country?!?! It has gotten to the point that I don’t even recognize it anymore. At this point to make mention of any particular political party or affiliation has become an effort that bears no fruit and only serves to provide a false sense of belonging. With members of both parties largely looking out for their own political standing they forsake the people who got them there. With very few exceptions we as a country have become void of any voice or representation in Washington, D.C. I don’t know where the future will find us should we continue on this path of apathy and malaise. I do have a good sense of where we are as a once great nation. It was 2 ½ months after my 16th birthday when I was afforded my first real taste of freedom. I had earned the right to legally drive a vehicle. It actually embarrassed me that it took a full 2 ½ months beyond my birthday to get it. This is not necessarily the case with young men today. This license afforded me another opportunity. I was able to secure a job which allowed me to earn money which in turn afforded me the ability to become less dependent on others. Three years ago my wife and I were both subject to a mass reduction in force. For the first time in my life I was forced to go on unemployment compensation. Embarrassment set in once again as I had become dependent on others for my livelihood. Not only has our once proud nation become an entitlement society, our government is now encouraging this dependency. Initiative is discouraged and independent thought has become taboo. We are being told and taught what is best for us. *I am now at the point where those with tender sensitivities may want to change the channel.* As a veteran I think I can speak for most of my brothers and sisters who have served in the fact that we will continue to serve. The common quote among veterans is that they served so that their children would not have to. I served so that my children would have a country that was worth fighting for! As I had become lazy and comfortable with my life I now realize how neglectful I have been. I value my freedom and refuse to lay down and simply take what the establishment wants to feed me. If you can’t afford to have kids then get off your back and on your feet and find something productive to do. Can’t find a job then volunteer to help others. Someone may recognize your talent and/or initiative and offer you a job. You cannot steer a parked car! This will also help your self-esteem instead of relying on others to motivate you. You are not owed a damn thing! This is not 6 year old T-Ball and everybody doesn’t get a trophy. Stop being a leech on society and earn your way. If you are a retiree or legitimately unable to work we will help you. Christians it is time for you to step up to the plate. You are under attack and this pro muslim administration is leading the siege. Continue to turn the other cheek and they will cut off your head as they profess their religion of peace. “For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.” James 2:26. My loose interpretation…Get off your ass and do something because faith alone will accomplish nothing. Our society has devalued morality, ethics, and even human life to the point that animalistic behavior and reactions are often the acceptable norm. If it is our intent to put this country back on the right path much has to change. Political correctness must cease and desist. Speak your mind, regardless of who might take offense. IT IS YOUR RIGHT! Proudly profess your faith. IT IS YOUR RIGHT! Responsibly arm yourself. IT IS YOUR RIGHT! Vote! Vote! Vote! IT IS YOUR RIGHT! Hold ALL of your elected officials accountable. Whether you take a stand on an Interstate Overpass movement, letter writing/phone calling campaign, challenging an incumbent official, or attending a rally you must do something. Here is one unsavory and unpopular thought that I have believed for a long time. Blood will need to be shed on American soil in the revolution to take our country back. However, we MUST NOT fire the first shot! As emotional as we may be about taking our country back emotion MUST NOT guide us as this will result in irrational actions. It is unimaginable to believe that our ancestors would be the only ones to see the need for a revolt…it’s our turn… There is no perfect time to take action. The time is now! “Those who want to reap the benefits of this great nation must bear the fatigue of supporting it.” Thomas Paine Kelly Almond 10/20/2013
