Wrote this a long time ago but it still holds true on a constant basis for my yoga practice at home...with several smart felines! Yoga-a win-win workout for cat & human... Sun salutation- Step 1: stand in Tadasana (cat: variation-wind rhythmically around ankles until human pets with foot) Step 2: inhale, arms up in urdhva ha stasana (cat: stretch up onto humans knees and dig deeply producing loud wail) Step 3: exhale using Ojai breathing Bend to uttanasana with palms flat on floor (cat: sit butt firmly on human hands and stick cold nose in humans face while looking famished) Step 4: inhale into low lunge (cat: run around to chase humans back foot tickling toes- bite if you can) Step 5: exhale into downward facing dog (cat: thinking...doesnt look like a dog-you are a crazy human...perhaps you should try scratching behind your ears with feet?) Step 6: inhale into plank (cat: jump onto humans back making her yell) Step 7: exhale down into chaturanga ( cat: jump off human and sharpen nails on yoga mat shredding it using fierce face!) Step 8: inhale into high cobra (cat: rub under humans arms making sure you make your presence known) Step 9: human decides to feed cat LOTS of food in kitchen then quickly run through rest of practice before he is finished eating! Human: NAMASTE! (cat: SUCCESS!!)
