Xerico Pinball (Marcus), I beg you not to ruin the HAAG - TopicsExpress

Xerico Pinball (Marcus), I beg you not to ruin the HAAG tournament experience. Can we just have a typical, normal, event with simple qualifying rules that are easy to understand and will draw the most amount of people? Maybe a breakdown of how the tournament will be run instead of just the schedule will help. In the past, the tournament has been pretty well run and gave people the opportunity to qualify across many different types of machines. THE BEST PART was it ran ON TIME and we were not there until all hours of the morning. This format looks like a nightmare, is confusing, and will most likely run late. We dont need another TPF from the past were we finish at 5 am. There are a lot of people that cannot afford $200! to play in pinball tournaments for two straight days 12 pm - 12 am (my guess is 2-3 am). Plus this will force people to stay Saturday night as well and maybe even Thursday night added more cost to the trip. Why would you change a working format to add so much cost and complexity to this event? On behalf of 90% of the pinball tournament playing community in Texas and 99% of those traveling from out of state to attend this event, I am reaching out to you to reconsider the formats and times so that we can continue to enjoy this experience. I could be wrong and maybe most people are excited about something different. Hopefully people will pile on one way or another so we can see what the people would want. You can experiment with new formats in one of your weekly tournament in the Dallas area over the next 3 months. In closing, I do very much appreciate your time and effort to organize and run most of the tournament in Texas. I know it is time consuming and exhausting! Overall you do a really good job but this format seems a little over the top. Best Regards, The Texas Pinball Playing Community.
