Xtious was born in the years Before Christ. 265B.C. to be precise. Though the details of his birth are not known except that he was born on the northern boarders of the current Roman Empire. For none know if he was of Noble blood, or a simple commoner. But it is believed he was of noble birth, with the last name of an Emperor that would come hundreds of years later. Though what is known is that his Father, whose name eludes historians, Died in the first years of the First Punic Wars, between Carthage and mighty Rome. The end result, is that Xtious had never known his real father. At the tender age of 5, Xtious mother had remarried, to another, and mothered a child with her new husband. Giving Xtious his younger sister, Juno. Though there is no evidence that the girl every truly existed. The man who would act as a father to the young Xtious, was known simply as Barnabus. A legionnaire who fought and lost his left hand, in the Punic War. Also a dear friend to his father, before his fathers death. The man always told Xtious how much he reminded the man of his father. Not to mention filling the young boys head with fantasies of Glory. At the age of 7, Xtious picked up his first sword. The gladious that his stepfather had used in battle. At first, Barnabus seemed disappointed in the boy, having truly never wanted to inspire the boy to join the Legion, but he could clearly see the boys father in his eyes and knew that saying No was not an option. So began the extremely early training, of the boy in the arts of the sword. The old legionnaire promised to teach Xtious all that he knew, and he held to his word. Several years passed, and the boy grew into a teenager. He had grown very close to his sister, having always proved over protective of her, and loving her dearly. But his love for his family was not enough to discourage the boy from joining the Roman army, in time to fight the same war his father had died in. At the age of 16, Xtious, kissed his mother and his sister good bye, as he set forth on his quest for glory. Barnabus would go with Xtious to the nearest army encampment to bid his stepson farewell. Xtious did not know, he would never see his family again. Xtious would not even reach his 17th birthday before he was sent to Sicily like his father to wage war on the Carthaginians. At age 18 Xtious would be taught thoroughly to fallow the chain of command, without question. He had disobeyed orders with his own intentions, resulting in the deaths of several veteran warriors. He was not executed as many may have been, seeing as officers admired the young man, but he was made an example of. He was tied to a post driven into the ground and flogged mercilessly, until he blacked out. By age 20 Xtious had forged a reputation amongst the Legion as one of the finest warriors in the Legion. Having already fought in countless battles and coming out victorious. Glory was within arms reach, as he was promoted amongst the army, and given power over a small force. Similar to a modern day Lieutenant. But he could not foresee that before the summers end, he would lose everything. In the year 245B.C., 4 years before the closing of the war, Xtious would enter his final battle. It began as many would, when opposing forces would look upon each other from across a field, that would house the coming battle. The sun was beginning to set as Xtious, observed his men. Most of which were older then he. He assured them of their pending victory, and did his best to keep the mens hopes alive and their morale high. Though he did not know it yet, but something in his being knew something was different about this battle. That evening, would be the last time he ever set his eyes on blue skies, as darkness began to embrace the land. The battle had been waging for hours, as two large forces collided in a furious frenzy of blood and death. Xtious motioned for his men to push on, as he looked over his shoulder to locate his men. As he turned to continue the push forward Xtious would be greeted by his death. The skies were filled with the brilliant colors that only a setting sun could offer, when a sword slipped through the small gap in his armor and pierced his flesh. He never seen the face of his attacker, as the sword was thrust through his very body to emerge from his back. Piercing, vital organs, but doing so with a precision that would not grant him a quick painless death. But perhaps the longest death one could ever receive. The raging battle continued on, pushing further and further away, as Xtious lay prostrated and helpless. Slowly dying, as he was warmed only by the pool of his own blood. With only the cries of agony from other fallen warriors to keep him company into the night. Then he would close his eyes, and accept his fate. But the gods seemed to have a sick sense of humor for he did not die. He awoke, soon after, as the moon was lifting itself into the sky. His eyes slowly growing distant and his vision faded in and out. When a stranger came calling. A cloaked figure that stalked the battle field, as though he were shopping at a local market. This dark figure kneeled beside Xtious and game him a choice, between life or death, as if he were a god himself, and could change the young mans fate. With fear settling in, Xtious took the beasts offer, and drank from him. With that, Xtious would be born into a world of never ending night, and abandoned by the creature that birthed him into such an existence. It would not be until the fallowing night he would come to realize what he had become. And he was already indebted to a creature who saved him from the dawn. A nameless demon, who he called The Maggot Man because he took the form of a dead and decaying soldier. The Maggot Man would coach Xtious along, for a short amount of time, and would vanish only to reappear at random times in Xtious existence. The Maggot Man would never reveal to Xtious that his creator was not the same as he, but instead was actually the creature that many would refer to as The Devil. Weeks passed as Xtious wondered the island of Sicily, feeding mostly off of the wild game around, and hiding during the day in various places. Though as the Maggot Man had taught him, hiding in the Earth, was more reliable then looking for a dark hole to crawl in. Soon he managed to find a man, who was willing to sail Xtious back to the mainland during the night. A Carthaginian no less, who took a payment of steel and gold. Unfortunately for the Carthaginian, he would be Xtious first mortal victim the moment land came into view. Sadly Xtious did not kill the man through free will, it had been his new found vampire instinct that drove him to such an act, with the pains of his new thirst beginning to drive him mad. He would never forget the mans face and the help he offered, before Xtious struck him down. One of his many regrets in his existence. After making landfall Xtious began his slow adventure back home. Though what he would find would almost cripple this young Vampire. Upon returning home, alls he would find were the burnt ruins of his village and the long since decayed corpses of everyone within. His family was gone. And his blood lust soon took root, as vengeance boiled in his veins on those who came raiding from the north. Xtious mourned his loss for several excruciatingly long years before he felt he would return the terrible acts. For the next twenty years, he pushed north with malice corrupting his heart and mind. He killed any who stood before him indiscriminately. No man, woman, nor child would be left in his wake. Stories spread quickly in those days. Around 225BC. Stories of a demon, whom cleared entire villages in a single night, circulated all of Gaul. Patrols of military were even dispatched to put a stop to such a monster. But they too would parish. As the year wore on, he slowed his advance. Nearly stopping completely when word of Roman conquest caught his attention. And with that he would step back and allow his mighty Rome to show its wraith for him. Simple as that he began to stalk behind the Roman advance. He took a great pride in personally dealing with any deserters. For many years he continued this life of his, for it had become all that he knew. His vengeful mindset eventually dwindled away, as the roman conquest began to fallow the Mediterranean shores East. There for over a half century records of Xtious travels seem to vanish. Some claim he went into a deep vampiric sleep, while others argue, he simply wandered the land aimlessly. To support the theory scholars had pointed out small villages that would vanish over the years. It was not until Roman conquest over ancient Greece, did this vampire Xtious seem to resurface in scattered records. It was in the year 151BC did Xtious at last find something to continue his existence for. A Macedonian Vampire, had crossed his path. She was the only other of his kind, he had ever seen in that era. The details of their meeting, are not entirely known. But the meeting was indeed a hostile one to begin with. Both having chose opposite sides to support in their own way. As one might expect the Demon that haunted Xtious tried to keep hostilities alive between the two, until they both discovered what the other was. And only then did tension seize to exist. Just as Rome had won its conquest and established Greece as a providence. Not until recently did the womans name become known. Sophia, had been Xtious first love, nearly one hundred years after his mortal birth. It is thought that his first love was already much older then he. She was thought to have become a vampire during the reign of a Greek hero known commonly as Alexander The Great. However there is insufficient evidence to support the idea. What is known is that she would be killed, little more then one hundred and fifty years after their meeting. Leaving Xtious alone once again. Xtious obviously exists today, however he does not speak much at all of his past. And when questioned about the theory of Sophia, he replied only with a tear swelling in those eyes. Most learned he would not speak of such things which drove researchers on to learn what they could. Though unclear about her death, ancient record indicate she was captured and crucified just before dawn roughly five years after Christ. Her killer in theory was one whom claimed to be a Trojan, who swore to vanquish evil from the world in exchange for eternal life. Xtious himself, did however confirm the way his first love had died. But he did not confirm the theories of the Trojans true origins. He did in fact mention his sole purpose in his existence for the next thirty years was to find and kill the one we call The Trojan. He also assured researchers that when he found this man, he did not offer a quick death but in fact offered years of tortures before at last severing his head. He mentioned this with a smirk. Again he vanishes from the stories but only for a few years. Xtious resurfaces in stories again in the year AD45. In these early years of common era, Xtious was thought to reside on the island if Britannia. Modern day England. In these prime years he seemed to be at peace with himself. Doing only what he needed to continue his own struggle for survival. Even growing so bold as to spare mortal from meeting a terrible fate at his hands. It was in Britannia he would settle for many years. Watching contently as his beloved Rome grew wealthy from the trade and resources provided by the tiny island. It was not even completely under Roman rule yet. As the Armies he still admired dealt with the many native tribes that were scattered throughout the island. Most of which Xtious found himself fascinated by. Such bravery and courage, even in the face of the titan that was the Roman Legions. Xtious did not play any significant part in this minor and yet time consuming conquest. He played as little more then an observant bystander. He was rather nomadic in the founding years of Great Britain. Fallowing the armies around like a lost dog, until he at last strayed away from Rome, in his own conquest. It was here that he had heard similar stories to the stories he had been the creator of. It would seem there were far more vampires in the known world then he could have imagined. It would not be until the year AD113 that he would begin discovering pockets of vampire activity, which he wished to learn more about. He would discover a great many numbers of vampires scattered throughout the island, though he had yet to meet another as old as he. They seem to stay in small groups, that would stay in certain territories. Where he was always the lone vampire. Slightly strange he thought, but he was not one to judge their reasons. For several years he would wander around the island, acting as an ambassador between the families of vampires. For he had nothing to fear or so he thought. That was not until in the most southern reaches of the islands he began to hear stories of men that changed to wolves. And these creatures hated vampires and would kill them on sight. He heard similar stories before but he assumed it to be more useless ramblings of mortals that had been blown out of proportion. Soon he would discover how terrifyingly true these stories were. It was not until nearly AD300 that he would encounter his first werewolf. The beast that would leave the scar between his eyes and turn his eyes into a gaze that seemed almost divine. In his many years in Britannia he had not known of the slow decline in the empire he loved so dearly. Such things did not become clear until the Roman Legion abandoned the island he had come to call home. Leaving it behind with minimal defense as barbarian attacks harassed his true homeland. So his beloved Rome left behind Britannia to the Saxon invasion advancing from the south. And invasion he himself fought in his own ways. But the fact are not clear as to how he aided in the lands defense. It is believed that most of the vampire families did little or nothing to defend the land. It had been in these years he had allegedly fallen in love with a Mortal woman. The details are unclear at this point as to how it came to be. But what is known is that the vampire families did not like this and felt threatened by such a union. They urged him to change her, but he refused for he found her to beautiful to bring into an existence as terrible as his own. As historians looked into the evidence, they found some rather strange coincidences. They believe the families of vampires conspired against Xtious and his new found love. But fearful of Xtious himself, already considered an ancient by now, they may have manipulated werewolves into doing the dirty work for them. For his new love would meet her fate at the hand of such a beast, when she was still in her prime. Her death had been researched back to around AD436. Just after Roman Rule over Britain had collapsed.
