(Y) EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT: Thank you to each an every one of you who continuously shows support by attending the organized meet ups. The admins of this group, Andrew Karczewski and myself, Melissa Wartenberg have been busy with event planning and some major changes are about to kick off for this group starting this February. The much loved monthly meet up Brass n Brew had hit a snag with the current meeting location Block 1912 on Whyte Ave. The owner of the cafe wanted to charge us $1-200.00 dollars to reserve seats there., Needless to say, the admins thought that sucked. To keep it free of charge for our members, the Brass n Brew will now be moved to a new location: the Old Strathcona Antique Mall and will run from 11am until 1pm. The mall houses a small cafe that provides coffee,tea, small lunch items and whimsical ice cream treats to enjoy. Ample FREE PARKING, handicap accessible and convenient shopping for those keen on picking up an item or two for their Steampunk Dark Circus Costume for the #SteampunkBall this year are also perks of the place and these are things that you folks said would be fantastic to have access to and be part of the meeting place. In the past there has also been interest in attending the mall as a group event and so, in order to meet that interest as well as finding a free spot for members to meet at, the admins agreed that the move to the Antique Mall was necessary and a very good thing for all. If you do decide to attend, please thank a staff member for allowing us the use of their space. Again, the Brass n Brew monthly meet up will now be at the Old Strathcona Antique Mall (inside the cafe), just off of Whyte Ave and will run from 11am until 1pm the FIRST SUNDAY of each month. Costumes are not expected but are always encouraged for members to wear. Please leave your gargantuan thingamajigit weapon at home. This is a family friendly event so all ages are welcome.
