YAYYYYYY! we have a meeting confirmed for tomorrow! Unfortunately not with one of the councillors as they are all very busy, but one of the officers will be able to meet us at 3pm tomorrow. At last, we can start a dialogue to help our kids :-) Dear Allison I am very sorry that you have not received a reply from Grant – he was in the office yesterday, but ended up in back to back meetings, he has been out of the office today at external meetings and will be out of the office all day tomorrow at an external meeting. I have just had a word with Grant on the telephone – he apologises most sincerely for not replying to your email – he did intend to, but his meetings ended up running into each other and he did not get the chance. Unfortunately, Councillor Arckless will not be available to speak to you tomorrow either as he is involved in interviews. However, it is hoped that one of the senior officers will be available to meet with you instead, which I hope is acceptable to you. I will not know until tomorrow who this is going to be, but as soon as I know, I will let you know. Best wishes. Please can you ensure he knows as he has not replied to my message to him? So very sorry. I have re-written: Dear Mr. Davey, OK, you wont meet with us. But we are an organised group, we are worried, and we believe it is not enough for you and schools to drip feed out how you are dealing with it. So who can we meet? You? Robert Arkless? Barry Rowland? Someone else relevant to the decision? It would help if proper communication started. A couple of us are planning on coming to County Hall on Wednesday 2nd July at 3pm in the hope that someone will be free to meet with us given the full council meeting has been cancelled. I appreciate your help in this matter. I have had a quick word with Grant now as I had to interrupt his meeting about something else. Grant is very sorry, but he cannot have private a meeting with you, or anyone else, on this matter - as you can imagine this could open the floodgates and there is no way he could fit meetings in with individuals on a County-wide scale. Please find attached a copy of a letter which is going out to everyone who has either written to, or emailed Grant about this matter, which I hope answers some of your concerns. If you need any further information, I have been advised that this should be made as an FOI request, details of which can be found on our website. Best wishes. I would like a private meeting with him and a couple of the parents to share our thoughts on the post 16 transport decision. Is there a way this can be arranged please? Thanks Allison From: Allison Joynson Date: Tuesday, 24 June 2014 13:59 To: Davey, Grant Subject: FW: Private meeting Dear Mr. Davey, Please can I have a meeting with you and a couple of the parents to peacefully and openly discuss our concerns about the policy change in Post 16 transport? Allison From: Allison Joynson Date: Tuesday, 17 June 2014 09:27 To: Davey, Grant Subject: Private meeting Dear Mr. Davey, I was wondering whether you would agree to meet with myself and 2 other mums privately to discuss the issue of post 16 transport? This would not be a ruse for a peaceful protest – rather a frank and free discussion with the aim to find a suitable way forward for all concerned. We would have liked to have discussed this with you at the meeting in July but as that is now cancelled, we wondered whether this was a possible alternative? I appreciate your consideration.
