YEEEEESSSSSSSS! Greg and I JUST had this conversation. He has been teaching me to hit. I prefer the boy bats (they are a little heavier and just feel better to me). Greg didnt understand. I explained to him (in no uncertain terms) that he needed to teach my to swing as if I were changing my lifes goal and would be trying out for the big leagues... not as though I wanted to be a token/placeholder on some co-ed softball league. NEVER let someone tell you or imply that you are limited for any reason. If you want to do something, do it to the best of YOUR ability, not to the best of your genders supposed ability.
