YES! And because awareness leads to support, which leads to understanding which leads to action. Its very easy as parents in our situation to become bogged down in our own little sphere (understandably so!) but unless we make the effort to help other people understand our world and our plight, we cant expect the support and understanding we so desperately need. Unfair? Shitty? Absolutely. But, reality. So, lets light everything up as freaking blue as we can! If we can use this campaign and day/month as a way to make the world understand, then HELL YES!!! People who are aware turn into people who understand. People who understand turn into people who care. And people who care will help and fight alongside us. And frankly, I dont give a rats ass about the origins of the campaign and whether one does or does not support Autism Speaks or any other charitable/political entity. I care that it has put this epidemic on the world stage and given everyone a unified flag under which to rally. And thats a good thing.
