YESTERDAYS SMS MESSAGES FROM THE READERS Editor, If what we read in the social media that Edgar Lungu and Rupiah Banda went to Nigerian to ask for money from the Muslim community of that country is true, then let everyone voting this month show him that Zambians can neither be bought nor sold. We are a Christian nation, why didn’t he go to the Vatican if he is so desperately in need of campaign money. Concerned Editor, Thank you and congratulations on making it to 2015. It’s time for every Zambian to focus on the future of our country. Most importantly, we are voting this month; let us vote wisely. We should by now have judged who will lead us diligently. State House is not for dictators, con men and people of questionable morals. Let us wake up, this is not 2011. Wachulukisa Sakala Editor, Did Edgar Lungu resign his positions of defence and justice minister? If he did not resign, which law qualifies him to be the PF presidential candidate for January 20, 2015? So there are classes of citizens above the law in this country. Shame! Kilenge S, Solwezi Editor, I want to know why students in other government colleges are not given meal allowances. An example in question is that of student nurses. They toil so hard during practice contributing to the government workforce. I feel even if this is part of their training, they too should receive allowances for their meals. Concerned Student Editor, It is unfair for Chishala Chilufya to trivialise the issue of late payment of farmers by the PF government. Does he know what farmers undergo to produce food for the nation? No wonder he is supporting a visionless and clueless candidate. Kabula C, Choma Editor, The omission of Kennedy Mudenda in the 2015 AfCON team is surprising. Why did Janza find it necessary to call some players that have been on the bench for such a long time, leaving out players who have been active throughout the season. Fr Zacks Tande Editor, I want to concur with H Chola, who wrote about the need for ZNBC to create a sports channel. I think ZNBC should as well introduce a local language channel similar to their ZNBC Radio One. We are also anxiously waiting for the decoders announced. Please, inform us about the new channels since you have now gone digital. Kelvin Chisenga, Ndola Editor, In 2013, a number of us got offer letters and paid for plots of land in Roan Costituency. However, to date, Luanshya council has not shown us our plots. It is 2015 and we are wondering if the whole deal was just a scheme to steal our money. Let someone from the local authority explain to us what is happening. Ruth Mwansa, Luanshya
