YOU HAVE TO READ THIS!!! I wrote my MIRACLES book specifically to get a conversation going on the BIG QUESTIONS. To get open-minded people across the spectrum of faith -- from atheist to devout believer. So if this email I got TODAY from a very dear friend is ANY indication, it is working. I cannot believe this and hope you can read it. VERY ENCOURAGING. Here it is. I modified a couple of details to make it ANONYMOUS, but the story is absolutely true. *** A FRIEND WRITES... On Oct. 7th I went to visit my aunt in New Hampshire. She now lives with her daughter, and her atheist, attorney son-in-law, Bob. Of course, I arrived with the proverbial gift basket of goodies for the visit that I had assembled. I also gave Bob the paperback pre-publication version of your book MIRACLES which you gave to me. Now, Bob, (67 years old) does magic tricks on the side when not attending to his law firm duties. When I handed the book to him he smiled and pointing to the MIRACLES title said, “You mean, ‘Magic’. “I said, Uh, no, I actually mean MIRACLES. My aunt and I then jumped in the car and drove through the countryside to see all the magnificent foliage. When we arrived back home, Bob came out to meet us in the driveway and said, I have just read the first 51 pages of this MIRACLE book and it is quite impressive. It is impressive because of the detailed science. I have never read stuff like this before from the thoughts of educated scientists.” By the next morning as I was getting ready to leave he said at breakfast, I have read the book. If this is true, I want to meet this man, Eric. I want to ask him some questions. (Now the lawyer was coming out in him.) I said you were a very busy man and Im not sure that would be possible, but he is doing a Socrates in the City event on Oct. 28 about MIRACLES -- and Dick Cavett is interviewing him! I’m going -- so why dont you join me? He had a conflict in his schedule and couldn’t. I will tell him about the free live streaming of the event, of course! (ericmetaxas) Several days later, Bob called me and said, I just need to tell you that I just read the MIRACLE book, again. This book is very compelling. In fact, it is such a compelling argument from a defense point of view that there could be a very great possibility that Jesus actually DID rise from the dead, like some people are saying. He then said he needs to talk about this more. Then he told me he had called some of his buddies and told them about me, and the book I gave him. He said to his friends, What do you think about this stuff? I mean, my wifes cousin is one of those born-againers, but she is not the kind that beats you over the head with ‘Ya Need to Be Saved.’ Shes actually fun! He wants to continue the discussion the next time I come to visit. *** So yes, please share the book with anyone you know who is open-minded enough to consider these things.
