YOU, ME, AND KESENNUMA, Page 133 What to do while waiting for a typhoon to blow by? Well, you and I know there are some fine cafés and bars and other attractions in town, and seamen long at sea know how to find them. We’re thankful for their input into our local economy. But there’s not much time for that. Nets have to be repaired, equipment needs maintenance, supplies and fuel and a thousand other details demand the crews’ attention. So the engines growl from dusk to dawn, and the lights erase the night while the fishermen spread their nets on the dock and close up the small tears and tangles before they shred into big ones.
