YOU SHALL HAVE HONOUR-Paul Dhinakaran Your grief will turn to joy. (John 16:20) Dearly beloved, God bestows honour upon His beloved children. Perhaps you are going through the path of shame. The Lord Jesus knows it as He too had gone through the same path. He who was all-glorious made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and came to this world carrying shame for our sake (Philippians 2:6-10). With no room to be born, He was born as a poor baby in a manger. He hung on the cross discarding all glory and honour. The Bible says, “He was despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not” (Isaiah 53:3). Dear friend, the Lord Jesus went through the path of shame in order to change your shameful, forsaken and despised state in which you are undergoing grief and sorrow, into double honour. That’s why He says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened (Matthew 11:28) and I will give you double fold blessing. I will appoint you for praise and fame in the very place where you were put to shame” (Zephaniah 3:19). Here’s a testimony from Sister Rekha who received double honour in the midst of shame: “We had no child even after 25 years of marriage. Hence we went through agony, distress, shame and reproach. However, even then, we waited with faith that the Lord would bless us with a child just as how He blessed Abraham and Sarah with Isaac. After 18 years I conceived. But alas! I had a miscarriage. We went through so much of agony and spent our days in tears. I conceived again after a span of 7 years. At once, I contacted the Jesus Calls Prayer Tower over the phone for prayers and a Prayer Warrior prayed for me fervently. In the fourth month, I went to the Bethesda Prayer Centre and prayed saying, ‘Lord, I should give birth to this child in a good manner. Let this child grow properly so that I will not be put to shame among others.’ The Lord blessed us with a beautiful girl baby after 25 years. He blessed us just as how He blessed Abraham and Sarah. He saw the tears that I shed in Bethesda and delivered me from the despised and shameful state. He helped me to go to Bethesda with my child and glorify Him. Things that are impossible with man are possible with God. Glory be to God.” Accordingly, the Lord will do a miracle for you too. He will appoint you for praise and fame in the very place where you were put to shame. The Bible assures, “Your grief will turn to joy” (John 16:20). You may be going through agony because of your problems. But the Lord is able to turn around the situation in your favour. He will perform a miracle for you and wipe away your tears. He will turn your disgrace into honour. You shall rejoice in His blessing! Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus, I am going through the path of humiliation. You know it as You too had gone through the same path. You came to world and hung on the cross discarding all glory and honour for our sake. I come to You with a burdened heart. Please remove my burden and comfort me. Perfrom a miracle for me and turn my disgrace into honour. Enable me to rejoice in Your blessings. In Your matchless name I pray. Amen.
