Yagba East Protests Update:LG Chairmans Kinsmen Appeals to Him A group, Ife-Olukotun Ward II PDP Youths, have called the Chairman of Yagba East Local Government Area, Otunba F.G. Ibrahim (Azuri) to do them proud by responding positively to the demands of the protesting council workers. In mail sent to kogireports@yahoo, the group frowned at the attempt by Azuri and his cohorts to link the legitimate protests to disgruntled PDP politicians rather than looking at the merits of their demands. We find it amusing that our son, Azuri is claiming that some PDP politicians are engaged in anti-party activities. We make bold to say that Azuri has always worked against PDP. He worked together with Late Mike Adeleye in the then ACN. Also, in the last local government election, APC won the two councillorship slots in his hometown, Ife-Olukotun and we truth is well known that they were sponsored by Azuri against PDP Azuri is very stubborn, we cant even face him though he is our son but we appeal to him to please attend to the demands of the protesting workers We also gathered that the NULGE chairman was arrested because protesting workers dropped leaves (mariwo) in front of Chief Omokores house. Since they cannot protest to his base in Abuja, they have to leave a message for him in his house to show their sadness over Omokores imposition of Azuri on Yagba East people ******************************* Meannwhile, the NULGE chairman is still in police custody and may be arraigned in court. Protesting Workers Demands: 1. No disparity in salary payment due to civil servants and politicians. If civil servants get 40%, then political office holders must also be paid 40% 2. No to Azuris policy of Study Leave Without Pay
