Ya’ah’teeh (Hello) HANs Nation! Mom of 4 and embarking on 45 - TopicsExpress

Ya’ah’teeh (Hello) HANs Nation! Mom of 4 and embarking on 45 but feeling ...well...a whole lot younger. It takes a little while longer to heal when you get older and the body doesn’t move quite so fast, therefore I am having to work a little extra harder to keep up with my little ones which aren’t exactly little anymore. A few years back, I decided to join Taekwondo because all I was doing was sitting there watching my kids for 1-2 hours almost everyday, just sitting. They were having all the fun. It’s been and still is tough mentally and physically but I am having the time of my life. I am at the gym and the dojang whenever I possibly can be. I also ran the Las Vegas Super Spartan where I fractured my ankle on the last wall right before the finish (might have had something to do with the ice cold freezing water on the obstacle before). I finished but boy did I get knocked down few pegs for a few months. I really missed my intense workouts while I had the cast on, but today was my first day back in the dojang to spar. My ankle is probably about 97% so it felt good. I love doing the Les Mills workouts and kickbox cardio and whatever else I have time for. Surrounding myself with people who have the same thoughts and motivations is quite inspiring and intoxicating. I have my off days and it’s okay because I choose this way of life for me and my family and that is not ever going to change. My wish is for all Native moms and dads to be inspired by their kid’s love, the sparkle these little ones (no matter how big they get) have in their eyes as they look at you. Live long healthy lives by being a Healthy Active Native. Thanks for all the inspiring stories everyone posts everyday.
