Yeah, Mother Jones really republished my May 20th Tomdispatch essay on feminism (titled Pandoras Box and the Volunteer Police Force) as Why Women Are Not Going to Stop Being Pushy. Pushy/bossy is to women as uppity is to Black people, one of those denigrating words never applied to other categories of people. Usually Alternet is the place that gives me really sucky, weird, off-key titles (well, they did until I chewed them out, and Mother Jones has heard from me.) But its kind of dumbfounding, with an emphasis on dumb.
