Years go, I believed in sentiment. A simple hug would somehow manifest into to a fairytale wedding. An elusive glance meant that there was a spark of affection. A smile would be attached to the meaning of happiness. Years along the line, denial of any trace of sentiment took reign. A simple hug was merely an act of salutation. An elusive glance meant nothing but a brief inspection of the milieu. A smile meant nothing but a polite substitute for an awkward grimace of discomfort. Amazingly enough, I went back to the sentimental reasonings. The difference this time is that years ago I was never berated for viewing the world in more than just existentially. Somehow grappling to realism and reality was better than living in a world filled with longing and fantasies. But I dont see people any happier when everything becomes calculative, factual, and rational with logic. No one gets that jolt of excitement when announcing to their peers that they had just slept. But there are ones who gleam with excitement when their night of sleep warps into a dream willing fanatical scenes of falling, flying, floating etc. Being grounded is important; however, theres something intrinsically beautiful about being the dreamer in a world filled with sleepers.
