Yep. Heres how it works: Corporate taxes or some other revenue source funds education. Lottery is introduced in order to add money to education. Yay! But when the lottery money comes in, corporate taxes are cut or eliminated. Result: Education funding stays the same or goes down. BINGO (pun intended), ignorant people are now paying for education. The lottery is basically a tax on stupidity. And while that may make for a good laugh, think about it a bit. The state is embracing a well-known addictive product in order to wring money from the last people who need to be spending it. Its just not what the state needs to be doing. The state should not be enabling this behavior for revenue.
