Yes, Im ranting. When did it become so important that we be comfortable all the time? I mean, why it is so terrible to put a little effort into what we wear? Why it is wrong to get a little dressed up in nicer clothes to go to a restaurant, the theater or traveling? When did shorts, t-shirts and jeans become our uniform for all occasions? I cant tell you how many weddings or what should have been more formal occasions Ive attended (especially when I was doing events) where people showed up in clothes that were casual at best. No one is saying you have to wear cocktail attire or a gown or a tux but is dressing up such a bad thing? I recently met a group of people and wore jeans (without holes) a buttoned down blouse, and a plastic bracelet and was teased that I was all dressed up! Geez! I purposely dressed down just so I would fit in more with the group but we were going to a restaurant and I didnt think I was going too far. What happened to a little elegance in our lives. I would have rather worn nice slacks and a better top but I figured that would be going too far these days. When did we lose all desire for any style? I miss it. I guess Im too old fashioned. (sigh) OK, rant is over...for now. :)
