Yes. Unfortunately this is the way of the world now. People just trying to take an easy option. Perhaps somehow there should be a different number for real emergencies like the code 1 issues described. My stepfather had a stroke in the main street of a regional Victorian country town. This town has its own Ambulance station just around the corner from where the incident took place. 45 minutes later there was still no ambulance. Lucky for my mother who is 75, that country people are helpful. They helped load the stroke victim into her car and she drove to casualty. I feel this is a disgrace and the prognosis is not good. I am not blaming the ambulance service as I believe they di a great job. I am angry at the system and continuing cuts ti essential services. Something must be done to fix this mess.
