Yes a competent, seasoned and proud Village Boy from Alluhunkhary, Upper River Region (URR) is the new Minister of Presidential Affairs, Secretary General and Head of the Gambian Civil Service. This is a strong inclusive nationalist message against those who live with the illusions that they and their city boy/girl vous members, mbokas, askani, mbadings and ethnic groups are, by default, entitled to superiority or top management functions in our Gambian political economy. For they supposedly know better and have the solutions to all the problems affecting society. Dear Dr. Bayo, since Public Office is temporal, I wish you a successful tenure and a dignified return to your private life after doing your part in this national public duty. Oh, it is July 22nd and Public Holiday in The Gambia! Well, my recuperation continues as advised by my doctors. Since some change of environment and enough rest are recommended, I might shuttle to The Gambia to enjoy the River and Serene Rural Environment. As I will be spending good Euros during my stay, I consider this direct personal stimulus package for the domestic economy my contributions to the ongoing national moments of reflection and more.
