Yes they are terrible. No, no-one is excused. The people (of all ages) making most of our high street rubbish are living awful lives that we justify by saying but its cheap. Of course its cheap, because were not paying for it. The people making it all pay for it, with their lives and their children. Mercury in the rivers and slavery in the factories. Were all against battery farmed eggs, so give your clothes a thought.
