Yes, today is 2nd December, THE BLACK DAY in the history of Nepal. Exactly 197 years ago, NEPAL was one of the strongest country of the world with the bravest army “THE GORKHALI” that fought for their own country and proved Nepal’s dominance in the Asia, at the time when the British’s empire had reached nearly 90% of the world. Then came the War with British (ANGLO-NEPAL war) in 1814 which ended in a humiliating treaty (Sugauli Treaty) on 2nd December 1816. Nepal not only lost her massive land but also the prestige, the dignity, the independence, in real sense. The BRAVEST GORKHALI ARMY was then sold and started fighting for other nations. And then started a tradition, a tradition of slavery that still goes on. Firstly, the Slavery for the British and then the ongoing slavery continued to our dearest neighbors. From Ranas, who ruled for more than a century depriving Nepalese of their funadamental rights. Then came the TUG OF WAR between the king and THE DEAR TREE-CONGRESS that destroyed 50 precious years of history. The Socialist communists???s time and then THE DIVIDE AND RULE ANTI NATIONAL PSEUDO MAOISTS (prachanda path???) Unequal treaties, internal political interference continued with the political insurgency. Sale & exploitation of our national resources. We even fear to speak about the things that are under our nation’s interest. Are we really free/ independent ?? The map has been shrinking day by day. God only knows, how we shall end up but the AASH and HOPE for a BRIGHT DAY will never die with the patriotism in the Nepalese hearts. Really the turning point in the history of Nepal. 10 seconds silence to mark this BLACK DAY……………..
